Festival
Multimedia contents such as video clips and photographs play a fundamental role in transferring knowledge and motivating scholars, especially in ophthalmology which is directly related to vision. Therefore, simultaneous with the 23rd congress, and for the first time, a photography and video clip contest is held in the field of ophthalmology.
Film Festival:
Applicants can send their video clips including ophthalmic surgeries and other relevant subjects to the secretariat of the congress.
Requirements:
1- Participants must be a member of medical society. (ophthalmologists, general physicians and specialists of other fields, optometrists, nurses, and the like)
2- The participants must register in the congress before sending their video clips.
3- There are no limits in the number of entries.
4- Specifications of the video clip:
a. Length: maximum 5 minutes.
b. Video clip format: AVI or MPG
c. Delivery medium: CD or DVD
5- The judges are free to reject the video clips if they are technically or qualitatively poor.
6- All works must be delivered to the secretariat before Sep. 6th, 2013.
7- The selected works for presentation in Video Journal will be announced before Oct.7th, 2013.
8- The selected video clips will be displayed at Video Journal section of the congress and the producer of the video clip can have a presentation on that.
9- The first place winner will receive an iPad.
Photo Festival:
Participants can sign up for this contest by sending their original photos related to ophthalmology and vision to the secretariat of the congress.
Requirements:
1- Participants must be a member of medical society. (ophthalmologists, general physicians and specialists of other fields, optometrists, nurses, and the like)
2- The participant must register in the congress before sending his photo
3- Specifications of the photographs (Judgment phase):
a. Photographs must be printed on high quality photographic paper in the size of A4 or 20×30 cm.
b. Digital files of the photographs are not accepted.
4- Each participant can present at most 5 entries.
5- All works must be delivered to the secretariat before Sep. 6th, 2013.
6- The judges are free to reject the photographs if they have poor quality.
7- The selected works for Photo exhibition will be announced before Oct.7th, 2013.
8- The selected photographs must be printed on photographic paper (Silver halide) and mounted on wooden chassis at max. 50×70 cm and delivered to the secretariat until Oct., 21st, 2013 for being displayed at the sideline photo exhibition in the congress.
9- The photos will be returned to the owners after the exhibition.
10- The first place winner will be introduced at the congress and receives an iPad.
