Case report:

Results:

A 24- Years old woman presented with a 8- months decreased in vision in her right eye following car – accident. Spectacle best corrected visual acuity (SBCVA) was 20/100 OD and 20/20 OS.
Funds evaluation in OD showed multiple choroidal ruptures involving juxta-foveal and juxta-papillary areas.
Fluorescein angiography revealed Choroidal neovascular membrane.
CNV complex with intraretinal oedema was seen on optical coherence tomography.
The PT received 3- intravitreal Avastin 1.25 mg/0.05 ml at 5-8 weeks interval.
According to clinical findings and serial OCT, Macular oedema was progressively decreased after each injection and complete resolution was developed one month after the last injection and at this time ,VA improved to 20/30. FFA documented angiographic closure of CNV.
At 12- months follow up, the findings were maintained.
|
Conclusion:
|
In our patient, the CNV responded well to treatment over a 12- months period.
The result suggest the use of intravitreal Avastin as monotherapy and merits further investigation for CNV complicating traumatic choroidal rupture.
