Purpose:
|
we know ocular brucellosis is so rare in children.we have described a case with ocular brucellosis in a 7 years old child.
|

Methods:
|
A 7 years old girl was admitted to Feiz hospital .She complained of decrease of vision, pain and photo phobia in right eye of 1 week ago. Vision was 20/400.she had in slit lamp examination
4 plus cell reaction and 0.5 mm hypopion in anterior chamber. we found 4 plus vitritis and in periphery of retina some patch of retinitis and choroidits was seen.
Because of these evidence and history of contact with sheep we checked for her some special lab of brucellosis and we found she had systemic brucellosis

Results:

treatment by antibiotics and systemic steroid signs and symptom disappeared
|

Conclusion:
|
this case report emphasizes that ocular examination in Brucellosis patients is so important and clinicians that work in this field must pay attention to this manifestation,Because early treatment is so important for preventing of permanent visual loss and another complication of ocular Brucellosis.
