Purpose:
|
As computers become part of our everyday life, more and more people are experiencing a variety of ocular symptoms related to computer use. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of ocular symptoms among the student of rehabilitation, in using the computers.

Methods:
|
This cross – sectional study was performed on the one hundred students. In this study, visual acuity, refractive error, ocular deviation at near and distance, amplitude of accommodation and near point of convergence measured. Through completing the questionnaires, ocular symptoms were investigated.

Results:
|
The prevalence of ocular symptoms were respectively: asthenopia 26% , irritation 19% , rearing 15% , eye pain 14% ,redness 10% , itching 8% and blur vision 7% . The most frequency of ocular complaints was reported by students that were working with computers daily for more than 2 hours including Redness in 90% , irritation in 85%, asthenopia in 73%, eye pain in 85% and tearing in 80% respectively.

Conclusion:
|
The prolonged use of computers can cause different ocular symptoms and computer vision syndrome created. To preventing the occurrence of visual symptoms thus, the need for proper computer workplace ergonomics and refractive errors should be corrected.
