Purpose:
|
To determine that the refractive outcome of the first eye can be used to select IOL power and improve refractive results of the second eye.
|
|
Methods:
|
The power of second eye IOL was determined by the postoperative spherical equivalent refractive error of first eye. The first eye refractive error had been partially incorporated into the select IOL power for the second eye.
|
|
Results:
|
A total of 370 patients who underwent bilateral cataract surgery inrolled.The average of the value of partially (50%) adjusted second eye error was 0.32 D. The percentage of patients achieving postoperative refractive error within +_ 0.50 D was 86.5
|
|
Conclusion:
|
According to our research the prediction error of the first eye may be used to improve the refractive outcome in the second eye.
