Purpose:
|
To describe an interesting
case with a long-lasting deformed
retained cilium in anterior chamber
following trauma.
|
Methods:
|
Case report:A 42-
year-old man with history of
unknown trauma about 20 years
ago, presented with mild blurred
vision and foreign body sensation.
In ocular examination a
whitish foreign body was seen in
anterior chamber.
|
Results:
|
The patient
underwent an intraocular surgery
under general anesthesia to remove
the unusual old foreign
body from his eye revealed that an
old deformed cilium has been
entered into the eye following
trauma.
|
Conclusion:
|
It is
recommended to be careful in
ocular examination in patients with
mild symptoms following trauma to
explore probable old foreign bodies
and remove them from the eye.
