Purpose:
To evaluate visual, Refractive and corneal topographic outcomes after Implantation of Keraring in Eyes with early to moderate Keratoconus.
Methods:
This Case Series study is comprised of 200 eyes with grade 1 to 4 Keratoconus that had Keraring SI6 implantation using femtosecond technology (ALCON-fs-200 and LDVZ6) Visual, refractive and corneal topography outcomes were reported after one years follow-up.
Results:
The mean preoperative uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) for all Eyes was 0.25 snellen line, and improved to 0.51 after one year (P-value <0.05). The mean preoperative BSCVA for all eyes was 0.40 snellen line, and improved to 0.63 at one year (P-value<0.05). There was a significant reduction in spherical Equivalent error from -3.5 to -0.97 D (P-value<0.05) and decrease in preoperative K-Max from 50.02 to 46.65 D postoperatively. (P-value<0.05) The Mean refractive cylinder decreased from 3.40 to 0.87 D postoperative (P-Value<0.05).
Conclusion:
After one year follow-up Keraring Implantation using femtosecond Laser is effective for the treatment of Keratoconus and provides safe and acceptable visual outcomes.
