Purpose:
|
To analyze the clinical patterns and diagnosis of uveitis in Isfahan
|

Methods:
|
The records of 2015 patients with uveitis referred to the feiz tertiary eye care center in Isfahan from 1999-2012 were classified and analyzed.
|
|
Results:
|
The mean age of onset of uveitis was 33.7 years.
The female to male ratio was 1.20. Anterior uveitis was most common (39.2 ) followed by intermediate uveitis (22.8%), posterior uveitis (20%) and pan uveitis (17.6%).
Non infectious agents had more role in the etiology of uveitis. 43.89% of the patients had unknown etiology.The most common known etiology was toxoplasmosis ,followed by fuch’s heterochromic Iridiocyclitis (FHI and then behcet disease.

Conclusion:

: Significant diffrences were seen in the clinical and etiologic pattern of uveitis in Isfahan. For example the higher frequency of uveitis due to toxoplasmosis , behcet and FHI. Environmental, genetic and geographical factor may contribute to this change.
