Purpose:
|
To observe intranasal space and its abnormalities after simple External DCR
|
|
Methods:
|
71 cases undewent nasal Endoscopy by an ENT specialis t6 weeks after External DCR. Success of the procedure and Nasal pathologies were recorded and analysed.
|

Results:
|
Nasal Endoscopy showed 9 synechias, 4 granulation tissues and 23 septal deviations(11 High septal deviations).Lacrimal system irrigation after silicone tube removal showed 2 obstrauctions
|

Conclusion:
|
In spite of good surgical technique and adequate care, Synechial bands and granulation tissues may develop after External DCR, however most of them would not be followed by obstruction of the passage.
