Purpose:
In this research we surveyed factors wich affecting intraocular pressure (IOP) after cataract surgery with Phacoemolsification method.
Methods:
This cross-sectional study was conducted in Feiz Hospital of Isfahan University of medical science. The study population was included all patients who underwent cataract surgery with Phacoemolsification method. We investigated the influence of factors including Intraocular pressure (IOP) before Phaco, chamber depth and anteroposterior diameter of eyes with cataract on intraocular pressure
Results:
800 cataract patients, with an average age of 59.63± 6.7 years were studied. Among these patients, 300 patients (37.5 percent) had lower Intraocular pressure (IOP) after surgery than before surgery and in 62.5 percent, IOP was unchanged after surgery
Conclusion:
there are significant relationships between anterior chamber depth and time of surgery with postoperative IOP in patients who had Phacoemolsification cataract surgery
