Purpose:
to assess the visual acuity (VA) of the post refractive surgery's patients who have asymmetrical glare by using color filters
Methods:
the VA of 70 participants who received refractive surgery was measured using yellow, green, and red color filters with and without glare
Results:
VA measured with green and red filters with and without glare showed a significant decrease when compared to its measurement without filters. However, regarding the yellow filter, the VA of each eye measured with and without glare did not show a significant difference before and after using the yellow filter and the VA of the participants was similar to the VA of the conditions of without glare. Moreover, the VA of the left and the right eye did not show a significant difference with this filter.
Conclusion:
red and green filters are not good choices for decreasing glare in refractive surgery's patients but yellow filters can be used to decrease glare and improve acuity.
